These questions are meant to be a resource, but don’t feel limited to what is listed here. Always feel free to bring up additional questions and topics to your mentor and critical friend. Your mentor will also have a list of suggested topics to discuss with you.

Questions for Your Mentor

• Do you have any favorite Scripture passages to pray with?

• Does your community encourage you to pray with Scripture? What does that look like?

• Do you have any tips for trying to do more meditative or contemplative prayer?

• What are some ways you have been able to grow in your trust of God?

• Has God ever asked you to do something that required a lot of trust? How did you overcome your fears about that decision?

Questions for Your Critical Friend

• Do you have a favorite Scripture passage?

• What’s your favorite way to pray?

• Had you ever done lectio divina before this workshop?

• Is there anything in the workshop that you especially liked?

• Has God ever spoken to you through Scripture before?

• Are there specific times in your life when you feel like God has asked for your trust? How did you respond?
