Promoting Religious Vocations Through Digital Media

Vocations Outreach, an outreach of Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Catechetical Institute, promotes religious vocations by creating and compiling resources for religious communities and young adults discerning religious life. Our work also includes sharing these resources with those who are interested in promoting vocations. 

 

Serving Religious Orders

  • Giving religious orders access to digital resources on our website and YouTube channel, which they may use to promote a proper understanding of discernment and consecrated life.

We serve religious communities in good standing with the Catholic Church by providing them with access to free web resources and sources of online formation. We are also committed to promoting the orders that partner with us by sharing their videos and photos on our Vocations Outreach platform.

Religious can act as mentors to discerners  who apply for our formation program via Vocations Outreach, or they may use our formation program to aid young adults already discerning with their community.

Serving Young Adults

  • Connecting discerners with resources they need to discern well

Discerners have access to in-depth formation via our mentorship program, as well as informative resources listed on our website. This includes links to additional resources such as readings, movies, and retreats. 

  • Creating videos which show young people the beauty of religious life

In the past, Vocations Outreach created multiple types of discernment and vocation videos. Any person who is discerning religious life will find a variety of perspectives offered from 50+ communities who have participated in videos on our YouTube channel. The videos were created specifically for young adults and designed to be of aid in all stages of the discernment process. Access our videos here. 

Sharing Our Resources

Our team has created and complied a variety of resources to teach young people about religious life. Any teacher, catechist, or parent using our videos or listed resources for educational purposes can be confident that they will help teach young people about religious life in an engaging way.
